ISLAMABAD: The Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah cautioned PTI on Wednesday that anyone attempting to enter the Red Zone will face harsh punishment, as the party had also declared plans to protest in front of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) the next day.
In the federal capital, the interior minister gave the warning while speaking at a press conference alongside the information minister, Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, said two days ago that on Thursday, there would be a peaceful demonstration outside the ECP calling for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja.
The coalition government has "received reports," according to the interior minister, and has discovered statements made by Khan and Fawad Chaudhry about their intentions to create anarchy outside. "PTI intends to generate mayhem in the name of the demonstration," he added.
